The Language of Wounds

A space for stories about people

“The Language of Wounds” is a space for stories about people. About emotions, relationships, fear, loneliness, the longing for love, and the wounds we often hide deep beneath the surface of everyday life.

In this section, we publish short stories, reflections and accounts inspired by the real-life experiences of the various people we meet. Not to judge anyone, but to better understand the workings of the human mind and how today’s reality influences our future decisions, relationships and the way we view ourselves and others.

We believe that much of human behaviour is an expression of one’s wounds:

  • Sometimes a scream is a cry for attention.
  • Sometimes coldness is a fear of rejection.
  • Sometimes silence is a cry for help.
“The Language of Wounds” was created to encourage us to reflect on humanity, and on ourselves, with greater mindfulness, empathy and awareness. It is an attempt to bring together life experience, psychology, reflection on emotions, and the journey from darkness towards a greater understanding of ourselves and others.

Perhaps you will find a piece of your own story here. Or perhaps, for the first time, you will come to understand the story of someone right beside you.
